Women's Resource Service


Women's Resource Development Worker provides:

  • Information, support and referral on any matters relating to domestic violence, legal issues, women's health, relationship issues, financial counselling, housing, financial matters, parenting, support and community groups
  • Intake and assessment service and offers brief solution focussed sessions with the aim to actively address the issues affecting you
  • Telephone support is also available to women on any issue during our office hours and may be particularly useful for women who are not able to make face to face appointments
The service is also committed to:
  • Organising and participating in community events for women such as International Women's Day and Reclaim the Night
  • Establishing groups and workshops for women on educational, creative and therapeutic themes
  • Participating in and developing resources for women and their children
  • Involving volunteers who would like to assist with planning events, running workshops or groups
The service is open:
  • To all women in the Byron Shire, 16years & over
  • Monday to Wednesday 9am to 4pm

"Women in our Community - Stories of Inspiration" Pay tribute to a woman who has made a difference in your life by entering a photo or art work and the story of inspiration.
Register your interest to join a closed group for women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence. Group commences mid March 2011 and will run for 8 sessions.
